What Gets Encrypted?

  • File Contents: Completely encrypted
  • File Names: Encrypted in vault
  • Metadata: Protected
  • File Structure: Hidden when vault closed

Encryption Strength

Activate Security uses AES-256 encryption:

  • Military and government standard
  • Would take billions of years to crack
  • Same encryption used by banks
  • Zero-knowledge architecture (only you have the key)
Performance: Encryption/decryption is nearly instant for most files. Very large files (1GB+) may take a few seconds.

Working with Encrypted Files

  1. Open vault with password
  2. Edit files normally
  3. Changes are auto-saved encrypted
  4. Close vault when finished
