Anti-Fingerprinting Setup

Last updated: August 22, 2023

Browser fingerprinting tracks you using your device's unique characteristics. Activate Security blocks this invasive tracking.

What is Browser Fingerprinting?

Websites collect information about your:

  • Browser type and version
  • Screen resolution
  • Installed fonts
  • Timezone and language
  • Installed plugins
  • Canvas fingerprinting

Combined, this creates a unique "fingerprint" that tracks you without cookies.

How Anti-Fingerprinting Works

Activate Security protection:

  • Randomizes identifiers: Makes your browser appear different each session
  • Blocks canvas fingerprinting: Prevents canvas-based tracking
  • Masks device info: Reports generic device details
  • Spoofs user agent: Randomizes browser identification

Enabling Anti-Fingerprinting

  1. Open Activate Security
  2. Go to "Privacy Protection"
  3. Enable "Anti-Fingerprinting"
  4. Select protection level:
    • Standard: Basic protection, few site compatibility issues
    • Strict: Maximum protection, may affect some sites

Protection Levels

Standard Protection

  • Blocks most fingerprinting
  • Compatible with most websites
  • Recommended for daily use

Strict Protection

  • Maximum anti-fingerprinting
  • May break some websites
  • Best for high-privacy scenarios
Note: Some websites may not work properly with anti-fingerprinting enabled. Add them to exceptions if needed.
