The Document Vault is an incredibly powerful tool that allows you to encrypt and decrypt your personal documents with just one click. It provides a secure space on your PC where you can store a wide range of files and folders, and they will remain encrypted and invisible to everyone except you.
Once the documents scan is completed, you will be presented with a list of the detected documents, including each document's type and detection type.
Understanding Your Scan Results
For each document, you have two options:
- Ignore: Choosing this option will keep the documents in their current locations and exclude them from the next document scan.
- Move to Vault: Selecting this option will not only encrypt the document using a highly secure file encryption algorithm but also remove it from its original location. Once moved to the vault, these documents can only be accessed through the vault and will remain protected.
Document Types Detected
The scanner looks for various types of sensitive documents including:
- Financial documents (tax forms, bank statements, invoices)
- Personal identification (passports, driver's licenses, Social Security cards)
- Medical records and health information
- Legal documents and contracts
- Private photos and personal files
Best Practices
When to Use "Ignore"
You might choose to ignore certain files if they:
- Are already backed up securely elsewhere
- Are not actually sensitive (false positives)
- Need to remain accessible to other applications
When to Use "Move to Vault"
Move files to the vault when they:
- Contain personal identifying information
- Include financial or medical data
- Are private photos or documents
- Should be protected from unauthorized access
