Installing Activate Security

Activate Security is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Follow the instructions below for your platform.

Windows Installation

  1. Log in to your account at activatesecurity.com/account
  2. Click "Download for Windows"
  3. Run the downloaded installer file (ActivateSecurity-Setup.exe)
  4. Follow the installation wizard
  5. Click "Install" and wait for completion
  6. Launch Activate Security from your desktop or Start menu
  7. Log in with your account credentials

System Requirements - Windows

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • 2 GB RAM minimum (4 GB recommended)
  • 500 MB free disk space
  • Active internet connection

macOS Installation

  1. Log in to your account at activatesecurity.com/account
  2. Click "Download for Mac"
  3. Open the downloaded DMG file
  4. Drag Activate Security icon to Applications folder
  5. Open Applications and launch Activate Security
  6. If prompted, allow the app in System Preferences → Security & Privacy
  7. Log in with your account credentials

System Requirements - macOS

  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer
  • 2 GB RAM minimum (4 GB recommended)
  • 500 MB free disk space
  • Active internet connection

iOS Installation (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Search for "Activate Security"
  3. Tap "Get" then "Install"
  4. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or password
  5. Wait for download to complete
  6. Tap "Open" or find the app on your home screen
  7. Log in with your account credentials

System Requirements - iOS

  • iOS 14.0 or later
  • Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Android Installation

  1. Open Google Play Store on your Android device
  2. Search for "Activate Security"
  3. Tap "Install"
  4. Wait for download and installation
  5. Tap "Open" or find the app in your app drawer
  6. Log in with your account credentials

System Requirements - Android

  • Android 8.0 or higher
  • 50 MB free storage space

After Installation

Once installed, we recommend:

  • Complete the First-Time Setup Checklist
  • Enable VPN protection
  • Run your first security scan
  • Import browser passwords to the vault
  • Configure auto-start (desktop only)

Troubleshooting Installation

Windows - "Windows protected your PC" message

Click "More info" then "Run anyway". This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning for downloaded applications.

macOS - "App can't be opened" message

Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General, then click "Open Anyway" next to the Activate Security message.

Installation Failed

  • Ensure you have administrator privileges
  • Disable antivirus temporarily during installation
  • Free up disk space if needed
  • Download the installer again (file may be corrupted)
